Skates
Inline Skates – There are many types for all skaters, so get the right skate for you.
Recreational Skates – These skates are designed for recreational use for the leisure skating in the park or around your neighborhood and other fitness exercising.
Speed Skates – For those with the need for speed, there are lighter skates that are specifically designed for fast skating.
Aggressive Skates – For those who ride rails and ramps, you need a solid and sturdy skates for the aggressive skater, which have specific modifications for such skaters.
Ladies, don’t forget that are skates for wider forefoot and even skates that have a lower back to accommodate a female calf.
Protective Gear
Helmet – There is no “current” federal safety standard for skate helmets but look for helmets with multiple impact technology and those with a CPSC certification sticker on it. Don’t skate without a helmet!
Knee and Elbow Pads
Padded Shorts with Tail Shields – These are lightweight and discreet, made of breathable material to prevent sweat buildup (Tip - these can also be used for skateboarding and snowboarding).
Hand and Wrist Guards – Hands are crucial in this sport so keep them protected with shock absorption.
Ankle and Chin Guards – Protect the ankle bones from impact and add additional support.
Upper Body Armor - Provides chest and shoulder protection from impacts, heat and cold and even chafing.
