Fishing as a Hobby and Sport
Fishing is a great leisure sport, but is also a great social activity. Get on a charter, join a fishing tournament, or simply grab family or friends, and head on out.
You can catch them and eat them, catch them and hang them on your wall, or catch them and throw them back in the water! Whatever your choice, fishing has so many options.
You can fish in a lake, creek or pond. You can fish in saltwater oceans or you can find in a frozen lake. You can fly fish, troll fish, anchor a boat and fish, or simply sit on a bank and fish.
Whatever way you choose to fish, and wherever you choose to fish, be SURE to check your local fishing license requirements. The license fees usually range from $10 to $30 and last all year.
There are all kinds of books out there to describe the lures and bait you need to attract different types of fish. There are also so many different types of fish and books can give you a visual on what you have caught!
Fishing itself is not a dangerous sport, but things can and do go wrong, so bring a friend, and fish together. Pack a personal flotation device and bring a first aide kit.
Lure you family away from the TV and go fishing! Remember, this is not JUST about the sport, but about enjoying life, the
outdoors, and helping you avoid eating from boredom!
